Denny, did you send that email to the list or me? Because i didn't see it at all until Deb's email showed it. BTW Deb, that's another thing that really bothered me. My McKenzi light amd magnifing system won't fit on the Dingo vise stem. The Dingo stem is to big to fit the holes of the McKenzi system. Apparantly the Dingo is built by a Dingbat. Just kidding Denny, lol. But you'd think the design would of been a bit better thought out, and machined to U.S. standards (biggest market, duh!) and not metric. Hello! Anyway, to answer your question Denny, i'm lazy. I'll get around to it. My Dingo has been sitting in my permanate tying position at home every since i've had it because i do not ever see myself carrying it around to shows. It's just not what i see in a travle vise. At least not with that base being a joke as it is. Peter had assured me that the base was heavy blah, blah, blah. PAlease, it's a joke. But i do like certain things about it a LOT! I've just been putting up with the problems i've had with it because i do like it in other ways. The fact that the entire head rotates into and out of those locked positions for instance is WAY cool. I REALLY love that function. I'm not trying to purposefully bad mouth his product Denny, i'm just being honest. As you know, honesty has got me into hot water before. Like, Johnny Griffin always says, "New York City, Tuff Titty." I tell it like it is. And i aint braggin' or complainin'. I would like to see Peter make some changes to his product and send me the new and improved. What-a-ya think of that? Maybe then i'd no longer have a hankerin' for a Law. The Dingo cost me a sizeable chunk of change, and it just hasn't been worth it. Both jaws chipped, won't hold hooks...jeeze. Maybe i just got a lemmon????? mark.....

Denny
I wonder if you can fit the Dingo into the large base Dyna King sells. It can be purchased separately and works great. I bought the larger base for my Dyna King and used it for the LAW vise I borrowed and it fit pretty well. That large footprint is nice to have especially for tying the salt water flies.
Just a thought.
Deb

Mark,
I find it interesting that you have not returned your Dingo yet. I know you
and I talked about it. ??? (at the sow bug 2004 and again ID Falls Expo a
couple months later.
I have tied 1900 dozen flys in mine to date. (just quit my yearly large
commercial order last month).
In all of my tying I have never had a hook come loose, is easy to get the
proper tension and the only fault I can find with the vise is I might like a
bit larger foot print on the base. I have and use both the Dingo I with
clamp (not rotary) and mostly use the Dingo II which is rotary.
I rate my Dingo for holding power right at the top and I have tied on every
vise ever manufactured.
I talked with Peter over a year ago and he said he is still waiting for you
to return whatever you do not like.
If you are interested in selling it to me, e-mail me off list. I made this
offer to you at the Sow bug and it still stands.
Denny
