Tim
Have you looked at piano wire? I remember reading that somewhere but I
don't know how good it is. I'll ask around. We have just been using old
hooks also and some modern ones. I think Roger has been using hooks also.
It's much easier. How are you reheating the hooks to get them hard again?
John O'Meara has been sending ours out somewhere he doesn't even have the
right equipment at the metal shop he owns. I've gotten up to 7/0's off ebay
and had John rework them. They were for originally for snelling and some
were offset so he filed them down and reshaped them and then sent them out
to be annealed. You might want to exchange some emails with him. He and
Roger have been working on it for a little over a year now. They share
notes and may be able to help you. I missed you at IFTS! I hope
everything is going well in your new home. Will you be in Danbury in
January?
Warm Regards,
Deb

Yes, it's true Dave! Only made a few so far, 8/0 and 9/0. Hard to get the
quality and style that I like for my creations. Truly "the dark side" !
That's just one more "iron" in the fire for me (blatent pun)

That's why I'm hardly on the list anymore, too much going on!
Cheers,
Tim
