I have a mesh waste stripping basket. I only tried to use it
once on the boat. It was not deep bottomed. We sometimes
strip very fast and our line goes out very fast when we throw more
than 70 feet. So I think the bucket would work better.

Why couldn't you use a deep striping basket, strapped to your waist?? The
basket would move with you when quick cast in odd directions are required.
Which happens frequently when poling the flats. It seems to me this would
almost get in the way when changing the direction of the cast to odd angles.
That said, I don't fish the salt that much. Just curious.

Here is a site that decries building and weighing one out of a leaf collator. http://www.midcurrent.com/articles/gear/lb_stripping_b Regards,Joel ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ginger Allen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2005 12:28 PM Subject: [VFB] RE: build your own boat line tamer bucket?'s
