Jimi, what "Hans" are we talkin' about here? Our good buddie Hans Weilenmann 
CAN cast incredably accurarely, so obviously he came to mind. Don't tell 
me..............nah, lmao. My wife is going to see Hans W. in Spain in a 
couple days.......i'll have her ask him, lol. Whoever it was done good 
though, lol. mark.....

Great Story, It's great to see one of these yahoos get a dose of their
own medicine.  They long ago learned that what they can't get from
legislation they can often get through the courts.  I hope he pays a
really big fine, jail is too much to hope for

What's up my friend,
    Well, I had my first ever encounter with an "Environmentalist"
today.
Schedule had me off from ATLANTCOMS CIC for a couple of days and thought
I
would try some trout waters a friend recommended not far from here. Went
up
to the mountains and camped at a place he recommended on a nice stream.
Spent yesterday flailing the water, roll casts are good, back casts keep
getting me in trouble. I will try the wrist brace you suggested so I
don't
rock my wrist. Yes, it still piles up about 20 feet in front of me, must
be
flexing my wrist.
    The subject of the post says it all. I have a bad habit of popping
off
the fly on the back cast if I don't pay attention, but this time it paid
off. While I was on the stream some idiot came down the far side and
started
throwing rocks in the water. I ask him to please stop because I was
trying
to fish. He started in on some liberal greeneie diatribe of injuring the
fish, hurting mother earth and all this crap. I ignored him and moved up
stream, he followed. I saw the first real rise, at least I think it was,
and
roll cast to it. Just then this flaming idiot jumped in the water right
next
to my leader. That pissed me off, REAL BAD. I started false casting, if
you
could call it that. Indiana Jones would have been proud, I cracked the
end
of that leader, I already had popped off the fly, right by his head at
least
a half dozen times. I actual think I hit him a couple of times the way
he
hauled ass out of there.
    Needless to say this happened my last afternoon there, so I had to
head
back to camp and head back for assignments. As I was pulling out I was
stopped by a DNR trooper. He requested that I exit my vehicle and show
some
ID. I politely locked the door and rolled up the window to just about 2
inches. Then I ask him why. He said that they had a report of someone
illegally fishing and accosting campers, I fit the description. I ask if
the
person making the report was available, according to the constitution I
am
allowed the right to face my accusers. He got pissed. When I placed my
ID to
the window and he could see that I was a USCG Master Chief, his attitude
changed.
    He said that the individual that called in the report was at the end
of
the road, with another trooper. I rolled down the window and explained
exactly what had happened at 1352 hours and what action I took. He
verified
that the call came in at 1400 by way of cell phone and the RP would meet
them for a formal report. When we arrived at the end of the road the
first
trooper pulled the other trooper aside and talked to him. Then they both
requested that the RP remove his hat and shirt. The RP had 3 nice little
fresh cuts on the top of his head as well as his shoulder, all matching
a
nice 6X tippet. They released me, filled charges on him for filling a
false
report and for intimidating a licensed sportsman practicing his craft,
boy
was that a compliment. I will be in court as a witness against him as
well
as filling charges myself when I get back. Looks like I will be out on
assignment for about 6 months.
    Will drop you notes along the way, cant say where I am going.
Take care my friend and give the girls a hug for me. Also, practice
popping
the whip with your fly rod, has its advantages when some liberal idiot
spoils your day fishing.
