Title: Meddelande
Del,

I'm with Mart on this... don't quit.

I was close to drop out from the paraloop swap because I just couldn't make them work. The guys here helped me with tips and hints... and today I actually rather tie a paraloop than a parachute. Not saying that you should do the same, just saying KEEP TRYING. All of a sudden it will break and you will lean back with a smile and say: "Aha... THAT'S how it's done." (Jester's add-in: Then you will get those beer and celebrate... and smile even wider when tying the rest of the night.)

Don't apologize for ranting the list with a call for help. It's a good thing that you ask... not only for your own sake. Among the 500+ who are reading this, I'll bet there are a few others with the same paraloop problem that you have. The answers given to you might also help also them. You done them a favour today...

/Nick

Let me clarify for a minute.
The flies are (were) being tied with everyday materials, and no new techniques were tried. I haven't really tried to tie paras before and decided that it was high time. The hackles are good grade Whiting, so I doubt the hackles are to blame. The closest I had to success was with a feather fiber post. It stayed together at least. I only am taking 4/5 turns of hackle, so I know I am not trying to use to much.
I think that next week I will take a trip to the local shop and take my tying gear (some of it) with me and see if they can watch me and tell me what I am doing wrong. I think that may be the best thing to do.
I am sorry I ranted to you all, but it had to go somewhere. Besides, that's part of what family is for.
Decided not to quit, just take a loooooooooong break,
