Speaking for myself, I would recommend Danville's Spiderweb (16/0). I use it often and like it very much, not only for tying small flies. I also use it for ribbing, over palmer hackles and bodies of fragile material... hardly visible, but still adds a lot of strength to it. It's also great for parachutes, tying the way Hans Van Klinken does (at least on the Klinkhammer). Tie in the post and the hackle and finish the body with the hackle unwrapped (and whip-finish). Then tie in Spiderweb around the wing post, wrap the hackle, secure it (around the post), and whip-finish... (again, around the post).
Spiderweb is good for more than small flies... /Nick -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Från: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] För Desert Eagle Skickat: den 14 juli 2005 00:12 Till: [email protected] Ämne: [VFB] Small Fly Thread? OK, one more question. If I try to tie a size 20 hook, in a few moments I have a very bulky fly, due to the thread being to big. What kind/ size of thread is uses on flies 20 to 28?
