If anybody has checked the site posted earlier, I'm pretty sure when he says "poly" he means polypropylene. http://globalflyfisher.com/fishbetter/indicators/ Polypropylene has a specific gravity of .9 and will float (barely) since water is 1.0 Some of the other "polys'" have specific gravities higher than water. They may still work as strike indicators though, and float with trapped air in the fibers. Gary Webb
