Prob. though is that it will slide tight after the very first fish (I should
be so lucky!). I think there is another knot albeit similar that would hold
it in place always. Any other ideas??
That's the only one I've heard of, Reuven. I keep hoping someone
else would come up with
something.
I've dug through a lot of knot references, and the Duncan Loop is the
only one I've found.
It seems to me we had a speaker once (Dave Whitlock) who said he used
the Duncan Loop.
"And I let the fish tighten the loop for me when I'm fighting it."
And somewhere in the back of my mind (rather dense, so it is hard to
find it exactly) I think
I remember him saying that you could loosen the loop again after you
took the fish off.
That's been too many years ago to be sure. It's worth a try. My
problem is that I can
never remember the knot long enough to remember how to tie it when I
get on-stream,
so I use the old standby Improved Clinch Knot.
