I did not book it  but it was a stretch of the Itchen next to the village of Twyford near Winchester.
COST £35 per day each, only 3 rods max allowed.
I dont know if thats cheap or expensive but for my first trip I did'nt care and will certainly go back again.
As the water was murky I fished with a sight indicator, i tied some pink shrimps ,the one my friend gave me was a neat looking fly mine ended up a bit raggedy but they sure did work cause i caught the most.

PS    I cant remember what part of the country you are at.

Subject: [VFB] Fishing Report

Just got back from my first ever day fly fishing for Grayling.

The weather was cold the water a bit murky, we were fishing a chalk stream that is normally crystal clear.

I caught about 15 grayling and two nice brown trout all taken on either a GRHE with a pink tail or a pink leaded shrimp pattern, that along with pleasant company and stopping for a Quick meal in the local pub made for one of the best fishing days I've had this year.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you all

Birdie
