Keith,

What I really want to know is how you find a vise (short of one for carpentry) to hold a 6/0 hook?

Duhh ! Sent the empty one by mistake Sorry !
Murf,
I got the hooks from another crazy Brit name of Short. He does a Christmas swap
each year. :-)
As for what do we fish for with those hooks well they are the nymph hooks I tie PTN
patterns on ! When those things hatch well look out nancy !! LOL
They are a Mustad hook and i would assume they were possibly a sea hook from a while back. Dont rightly know though. Maybe Iain can tell us all.
Don has some of the hooks and reckons they are not as the box size says they are.
Comparing to todays sizing for 6,7 and 8/0 he is probably right.  curiosity got the better of me and I have mailed Mustad for info. I iwll let you know what I get.
The 400lb chicken is out on the town with the 800lb turkey !! Apparently they are
going to paint the town red one last time......

Yes sir, I do Keith.  Thank you for those.  I have tried to get these beauties in my vise but the only vise that works is a bench vise for wood working and it doesn't allow much room to tie.  ;-)  Besides, where would I find a 400 lb chicken to use for hackle?

Figured DonO or another tyer of large...er, HUGE flys might consider trying to tie on these monsters.  Where in the world did you get them and what size fish do you fish for on your side of the pond?  Gracious!  No wonder you have 2-handed spey rods!
