   Certainly was a nasty day.  As low as the local creeks have been they should be back to below normal in a day or two.  As far as patterns go these two have worked around here and in other parts of the NE.
For the BWO.
The Usual
Hook: Size 16-18 TMC 101
Thread:  Brown
Tail:  Gray Snowshoe hair
Body: Olive CDC feather tied in by tip and wrapped
Wing: Gray Snowshoe hair
or
BWO Parachute
Hook: Size 16-18 TMC 101
Thread:  Brown
Tail:  Fibers of your choice
Body: Olive CDC feather tied in by tip and wrapped
Parachute Post:  Whatever you normally use
Hackle: Gray Grizzly
For the Hendrickson.
The Usual
Hook: Size 14 TMC 101
Thread:  Brown
Tail:  Gray Snowshoe hair
Body: Tan or Brown CDC feather tied in by tip and wrapped
Wing: Gray Snowshoe hair
or
Snowshoe Cripple
Hook: Size 12-14 TMC 2488
Thread:  Brown
Trailing shuck: Rat Tail or Frizz Fiber colored brown
Body:  2 or 3 Brown or Natural Pheasant Tail fibers,  tied in by tip and wrapped
Rib: hair thin copper wire
Wing:  Gray Snowshoe, tips pointed forward, back trimmed
Thorax: Yellow CDC feather tied in by tip and wrapped, or yellow dubbing
Hackle: Gray Grizzly
Tying instructions
Tie in trailing shuck
Tie in Pheasant tail and wire.
Wrap PT about 2/3's up the shank, counter wrap wire
Tie in Snowshoe with tips pointing forward, trim back even
Tie in hackle behind wing
Tie in Yellow CDC feather and wrap or dub thorax
Wrap hackle through thorax, tie down, build small head and finish.
You can also tie this for the BWO, use an olive dyed PT with an olive or bronze trailing shuck
on a size 16 or 18 TMC 2488.

Speaking of which (tying the flies, not the nap), any suggestions for BWO or Hendrickson hatches?  Both started a day or two ago on the East Branch of the Perkiomen River, less than 1 mile from the doorstep, but I'm not sure what will happen with all of this rain and such... in any event, any "tried and true" patterns for the two hatches that you favor over others?
