Sad and shocking news, to say the least. I always enjoyed Murf's banter
and quick wit. Truly one of the 'good guys.' There's a certain void on
the VFB list now. He will be sorely missed.

I am deeply saddened this morning. My very close personal friend and
a friend to all on this list is gone. David Murphy passed away
earlier this morning.
Murf was one of the kindest most generous persons I've ever had the
pleasure of knowing. I first met Dave at the Fly Tying Symposium
about 10 years ago. We fished, tied flies and caroused ever since.
Those memories will stay with me forever.
