I just finished building my new Sage XP 9 ft. 5 wt. , something I
have wanted to do ever since I cast an XP four or five years ago.
I also have Loomis IMX 7 wt. blank I bought on ebay about 3 years ago
and decided to wrap it too. After gluing on the reel seat, handle and
tip I laid the rod out to measure the guide spacing... and was
shocked to find it was a 10 foot blank! I am certain that it was
listed as a 9 foot rod on ebay.
I'm going to finish building it anyway.
Have any of you fished with a 10 foot rod? Any comments as to
advantages? Have any of you cast or fished with the IMX blank?
