just had clear out of never used rods, but still have ...
10ft 6in #7 fiberglass hardys rod that was advertised as "ideal for sea trout/light salmon boat fishing". It is only happy casting double taper lines but has the power to drag a heavy sink line up from the bottom.
10ft 6in #7 Silstar Boron rod that is a pure joy to cast
11 foot un-named blank #7to9 kevlar rod, designed for use on lakes, that is happiest with Double Taper or Shooting head lines You may not want to use them in wooded areas but you do get extra hight over bankside vegitation.

I just finished building my new Sage XP 9 ft. 5 wt. , something I have wanted to do ever since I cast an XP four or five years ago.

I also have Loomis IMX 7 wt. blank I bought on ebay about 3 years ago and decided to wrap it too. After gluing on the reel seat, handle and tip I laid the rod out to measure the guide spacing... and was shocked to find it was a 10 foot blank! I am certain that it was listed as a 9 foot rod on ebay.

I'm going to finish building it anyway.

Have any of you fished with a 10 foot rod? Any comments as to advantages? Have any of you cast or fished with the IMX blank?

Thanks,

Tom
