Byard, et. al,

I will lightly weigh in on this.  I migrated to this list 4 or 5 years back (has it been longer?) from another list for the very reason that Byard mentioned that we are doing here.  I knew Byard from there.  We were in a couple of swaps and I still have one that he did where we drew our favorite fly and tying method.  I think Sue was the swapmistress.  I came to the list to be educated and meet new friends.  That has happened.  I think that sometimes we get a little too silly here but having said that I like that we are friendly and seem to care about each other.  I get lots of help from the list so I would hate to see it go away.  I would just suggest a little less banter and more real education.  I did think Chuck's question would lead to some interesting discussion of tyers and their art.  It still could.  I will try and help in this area with my comments for as I said, I think the people on this list are a wonderful cross section from around the world.  Ian helped me so much when I was headed to New Zealand.  Too bad he could not meet me there to teach me to land the big ones I was fortunate to hook.  Let's do what it takes to make this list the best.
