If you want to call this Trolling flies you can. I don't know how many times I have dragged a fly behind me while moving from one spot to another on the river or pond and had a fish take the fly. This has also happened while moving the boat. One time I had the fly hanging off the gunwale while moving to another spot and had a trout jump out of the water and take the fly. Yes, I did land it.
