Egads! Sacre' Blu'. I'm relegated to only tying mice that catch
fishermen!!!
Oh, woe is me! I must concentrate on tying "fishing flies" now.

Hint...make your own rules and then you're only breaking their rules.
And who knows, maybe ...

P.S. I know Dave Whitlock and Chris Helm personally, as they both have
endorsements on my website. They like the way I tie, so I feel OK about
that. And I don't disagree with how they tie, we're just different.

Dear Deer Hair Rebel

Breaking all the rules might work if all we did was to tie mice (and yours
are very good I might add) however, speaking for myself, I want to tie flies
that catch fish not fishermen. I tend to agree with Henk and Chris Helm
regarding the "advice" or "rules" for spinning deer hair but at the same
time nothing including "rules" is cast in stone

Henk,

You ought to watch me tie mice (had the chance in NJ). I break every rule
there is just to make sure I break all the rules. I don't comb out the
fuzz, use those threads, tie on a bare hook (legs are attached), pack with a
stacker, do two loose wraps, etc. etc. It's these voices in my head telling
me not to conform... ( I learned to tie in the 60's, so I naturally buck
the establishment)

Mice come out OK, too.

DOnO
