Just to add one point to Neal's excellent advice, when fishing streamers
from a drift boat, pay particular attention to the calm areas behind a
current break. Cast the "streamer" high-up into the calm water with a
big upstream aerial mend, let it sink for a moment, than strip like mad.
I've had some outstanding fishing using this technique.
However, one of my best days came with a totally different approach. I
was using an all-white rabbit-strip streamer with beadchain eyes (a
"single bunny"). I dead-drifted this a few feet from shore, making it
lift and fall with the rod tip. The bows, no browns, hammered this
consistently until I finally broke it off in a 5+ pounder.

cheers
Paul
