Tony: No, it's forest green and hollow.. I remember the old white ones with
my Zebco 202 on them as a kid LOL...They were stiff as a broomstick like you
say.. I'm thinking this rod is an 8-9 weight now that I went and copied down
the writing on it. I was thinking it was a 6wt, but it is about 1/2 thick at
the handle(or more) It says "Fishmaster by Hicks" Model #HK390 then it has
AFTMA8-9.. I bought it at a flea market a long time ago... Chuck

Chuck,
If it is a glass rod, more than likely it is soft rod
making it better for heavy lures. If it is one of
those solid white glass rods, it may be like a
broomstick.

Jerry: Heavy as in clousers, or bigger sized wooly
buggers that have 30 wraps of lead or so. I am using
a 5wt slow action rod, and 6wt weight forward
line..But I have a 9 ft 6 wt rod that is fast
action that I am gonna try them on. Just that that
old rod I have had since the 70's I think. It is
fiberglass and weighs a ton compared to my new rod,

Chuck,
What size flies r u casting on what size rod and
line. Are they heavy such as clousers or heavy as
in air
resistant such as poppers, or deer hair heads.
Have some thought depending on what you are doing

Subject: [VFB] Casting heavy flies
Folks: I noticed the other day that I am still
having a heck of a time casting flies with any
weight to them at all. They just want to "lob" out a
very short distance.. I don't know what I'm doing
wrong.. I tend to want to do like a lure and caster
harder, and that just makes things worse.. Any
pointers would be appreciated. Thanks, Chuck
