Mark, Welcome back. We all knew of your flood problems, but boy, what an ordeal.
Whatcha talkin about for these salmon irons, $$$-wise??? My 19/0's cost me $55 without the chain. Then I have them re-shaped and painted or plated, which is another $30. That's plenty for one fly hook. But, they're not 'exposition grade', they're 'demented grade'. BTW, for all you salmon fly tyers who may not know.......Ronn Lucas Sr. has bought out Ron Reinhold's entire business, lock, stock and barrel. He is now going to be making the same hooks as Ron made, according to the catalog. You can go to his webiste at http://www.ronnlucassr.com and check it all out. NIOW, the most importan thing (far as i'm concerned, lol) is the fact that he is also, going to be offereing the hooks in colors at some time (i hope, lol) in the near future. He's talkin about up to bout 10 colors, and the extra cost for that willl only be bout a buck a hook. Of course these hooks a not cheap in any way. They are, as far as i know the most expensive hooks in the world for tying salmon flies........but what's another buck at that point. I've got my order in and can't wait to see them. In fact i have already seen them in pic(s) that Ronn has sent me by email. They are BEAUTIFUL! The hooks can also be had in extra long shanks for even more money, significantly more money.....making them very expensive, but they are worth it imho. They come in "Traditional" grade, and "Exposition" grade. Traditional being not as expensive for various finish, and customizing reasons. An "Exposition" grade hook, colored, with an extra long shank, would undoubtedly be the most expensive hook on the planet, but they are works of art, in and of themselves.....truely.
