You right about that little saddle Jeff, and also bout the Zap-agap or whatevder........but all to time consumming. I get moore orders for Clousers than anything else.....(not that i tye that much commercially, but some) and i wanna get 'em done as fast as possible, AND have them durable. So i just wrap 'em TIGHT! and usually give the heads a lotta coats. That part is not to time consummin' either......couple coats when tyed, couple next day, DONE. I'd never get an order for three dozen done in one sittin' anyway. Tye 15 or so, come back and do it again next day. Like i said, i'm a small timer commercially....but it's fun. mark.....

I like to put a drop of CA glue on the figure 8 wraps after the first few to help hold the dumbell eyes to the hook shank. Also, making a "saddle" from 2 thread bumps to place the eyes between is a good way to help manage the placement of those eyes and minimize sliding.

It is Chuck, very easy......a bit time consumming.......but one thing will really help that. when you do the eyes, make absolutely sure that you not only figure 8 them, but that you also do wraps underneath them, VERY tight, above the hook shank. Don't underneath the hook shank when doing those wraps. They are to "lock-in" your figure 8 wraps, and should be done extremely tight. If you do them correctly, you won't need near as many figure 8 wraps.....thereby saving time. And stagger those wraps, figure 8's, underneaths, figure 8's, underneaths, etc., etc....... mark
