"A durable set of tools can be purchased for $25.00 or less, This may seem
like quite a lot of money, but consider this: as soon as you've tied four dozen
flies, you'll have saved the price of the equipment. Ask any fly fisherman who
fishes regularly how many flies he used in a season. Good quality flies not
cost about $6.00 a dozen, so you can see that it doesn't take long to go
through $75 to $100 of flies. Many fisherman spend more that that on flies in
the course of the season. The cost of fly-tying tolls and materials is
insignificant by comparison."
