Actually, I, like you, didn't get to go to Sowbug this year...instead, they've been keeping me ridiculously busy at work the past few weeks...last wek earliest I got home was about 8:00 pm, and that's starting at 8:00 am...I didn't think this job had 12 hour shifts...
Anyway, last Saturday morning, finally got out for my first fishing trip of the year. My fiend Ron and I fished the Calcasieu River...but it looked more like we could have walked on it, it was so muddy. A few half-hearted hits and one solid take with no-hookup was all we managed. It's discouraging when the visibility is down to 3" or less. No good reason for it either, we haven't had rain in about 2 weeks. Still haven't caught a fish on my new 5 wt.
