This is a fly that has always done well for me, and I have tied up a variation of my own this year that I am excited to try. It is basically a pheasant tail body with an RS2 head, and IMO is easier to tie than the original (especially if you try to tie a single microfibbet on each side of the hook like Rim does in his original fly).

I have always wonder what makes this fly as effective as it is and I think part of it might be the movement of the little tuft of feather on the top of the fly.
