Hey Tom, I was using a size 18 RS2 this weekend on the Lower Owens. It was black dubbing with a tuft of white CDC and 3 split white microfibbets. We were using it below a Tent Caddis as a dropper. The caddis had heavy hatches around late morning. Worked well on the Browns. Great fly. This is a fly that has always done well for me, and I have tied up a variation of my own this year that I am excited to try. It is basically a pheasant tail body with an RS2 head, and IMO is easier to tie than the original (especially if you try to tie a single microfibbet on each side of the hook like Rim does in his original fly). I have always wonder what makes this fly as effective as it is and I think part of it might be the movement of the little tuft of feather on the top of the fly. Here is a link that shows you how to tie the original fly. http://home.att.net/~ferenc/ Tom Davenport On Mar 26, 2007, at 11:01 AM, Chuck Alexander wrote: Did sowbug wear everybody out????
