Re: WB's/rope dubbing ??Allan,
There's two, or three, depending on how you count them, ways to set the core at
the starting point for the rope-dub (not always the rear of the hook). You can
use the core material for all the tying, and rope on it. Or, you can tie (with
thread) the core material (like wire if you don't want to tie with the wire)
down as a 'tag' material. If I do the 2nd way, I tie the core material while
it's loaded in a bobbin. This give me something to tension the wire with-
important. If I were to just tie in a tag of wire, I couldn't set tension
unless I used a hemostat or something to grab the wire tightly so it wouldn't
twist with the dubbing.

  Chuck,

My name's not DonO (thank goodness for small favors!). :-)

Don: So you wrap the thread, hackle and chenille, then wrap the copper wire
over all that????

The way I interpreted what he said:
"My version uses a copper wire core for the body material and the hackle, but
the wire is not twisted with the material."

is to leave a hunk of the wire sticking out the back of the hook, run the
thread up front, then rope-dub everything ONTO the wire. Wrap the dubbed wire
for'rd and tie it off.

Now if DonO answers, he can tell me if I translated it properly from the
Cajun.

  Allan
