We found this out after the fly was called the Chili
Pepper. The original was tied as a joke till it
started producing. I had the only one that was tied.
The original tyer then started tying them for the
shops but it had no name. It was referred the Copper
Bugger. One of our club members called it that Hot Fly
from there it was called a hot pepper then it became
The Chili Pepper. The name stuck. We later found out
there were three other flies called Chili Pepper.
It was not originally tied with a bead. It had a Fire
Orange thread head. I tied them with a bead and the
Copper chenille when the original Chenille was not
available anymore.
