DonO.. so the cedar planked is good??? My wife and I saw the show on Food TV network the other day called "Good Eats" cause Alton Brown, the host is from Georgia and it's a great show.. But anyway, the show was all about fish, and when he was talking about "planking" he said Cheery, Pecan, Apple, and CEDAR... I asked My wife "how could Cedar have a good taste when it tastes like... well, Cedar?"I mean, a Cedar Chest smells great, but I never thought about eating it LOL.. I can see any of the fruit or nut trees giving a great flavor, but Cedar??? Has to be Western Red Cedar right??? Cause I wanna try the "planking" for sure...Chuck

Cedar works best because it's a soft wood that you can chew after you throw the salmon away.
