Hi Allan:

I have begun using something called spiderweb paper. It is identical to the
winging material with a pattern on it and it can be put in a printer for
outlines of wings to be printed. It is often used in wedding invitations
and coast in Oz around 75 cents an A4 sheet. It looks like hemming tape
that you put in the cuff of pants or hem on a dress and iron it to melt it.
Looks beaut and very much like a real wing with veins. It comes in different
colours but you could print on it any color or pattern you want. Definitely
worth trying.
The very fine foam you refered to is used to wrap DVD machines and so forth.
No difference in thickness.

Regards,

R
