When overseas for business, a shop in Cumbria England (I think the shop was
called "Lake Land"?) had a decent supply of the 'old' stuff for a pound and
a half per spool (~$3 US)... not sure if they're still available or not, but
they had a big internet site if I recall correctly. I was disappointed at
the time, as they were out of the Light Olive and black colors, the two I
needed more of, but they had a ton of all other colors. No affiliation,
just offering a suggestion if anyone really likes Gudebrod's 10/0 thread
enough to pay 3 bucks a spool for it... I go the Spiderweb or gordon
griffith's Sheer 14/0 routes, usually, but thought I'd offer the info if
anyone wants it. Oh, I just pulled the hard-copy catalog, and the place is
called Lakeland's Fly Tying. http://www.lakelandflytying.com/ Again, no
affiliation, just offering it as info. (I didn't see it on Line's End, else
I would have suggested there first.)
Hope that helps the thread hunters,
Pete - who is going to go turn the tying room into a nursery... at least I
can still use the kitchen table (sniff sniff)... eh, couldn't happen for a
better reason
