Well for me it was a fight but I came to understand the software. It
is not easy to use. I had to go out and buy "QuickTime For Macintosh
and Windows" by Stern and Lettieri. It generally looks good if I keep
the distribution method as the focal point. The problems that I have
had with it are (using 6.0)

*I could only cut and paste.

*I started with QT Pro and at the end of editing I would have a huge
bloated .avi that I had to port over to .wmv to finish.

*I couldn't edit in .wmv and then port to .mov

*I couldn't use .mov because of the file size - too large for dial-up.

I bought Ulead VideoStudio 9 where I can produce a high quality .avi
file and then create a .wmv and .mov version.

One of the things I envy about podcasters is the variety of "one
stop" software where they can record, edit, encode and upload an mp3 file.

I think what we all would want is a universal video format that would
play on all systems. Flash is a universal format but we
don't/can't/can't afford to use it.

Windows is for me about the ugliest computer experience I've had
recently ... either it doesnt work at all, is 10x the file size
(compared to wmvs), or is CRAPPY CRAPPY quality.
