I feel your pain. I've been using UleadStudio 9 with no major problems
$99. Now if you are thinking about doing anything with MP4 they do
have a free download to allow you to work with that format but I swear
it took me 4 weeks to d/l from their servers. And it never worked.

It was no biggie for me cuz I had QuickTime. But other than that major
annoyance it works fine.

If money is a factor I had mentioned in a prior post that I purchased
a firewire card from CompUSA that had a free copy of Ulead VideoStudio
7 $30. Check the front of the box, it will state it clearly that the
software is inside.

I also tested Adobe Elements 1.0 and I have to say that I did like it,
it was similar WMM2 in layout but it was packed with features. I think
at the time Ulead had more import/export options so I went with that.

I had an early version of Vegas before Sony bought it - it was okay
but I had to stop using it because it could not read certain types of
.avi files from my digital cameras.

I went through a boat load of editing software. When I can find time I
will write up about the affordable and the good.

Later,

Gena
