RSS readers and aggregators are not working as well as they used to
for me at the moment. I've subscribed to too much stuff.

Most of my viewing at the moment is of things that are hot off the
press via links on Twitter or via email subscriptions.

And I can't persuade any of my non-geek friends and family to even
think about using readers or aggregators. The only thing they
understand is email.

So I want to shout about Subscribing By Email for a second.

I strongly urge anybody who hasn't done so to install a Subscribe By
Email form in their sidebar and feature it prominently alonside the
link to your feed.

Feedburner provide it in their Publicize section. It looks a bit big
in its original form, but you can strip out the CSS easily and
customize it a bit (I have). If you don't use Feedburner, you can
get one for your site from Feedblitz.

You can always set up rules, filters and folders in your email
program to pick up feed emails and put them into a separate folder,
to stop them clogging up your inbox, if you're worried about that.
And, of course, you can always just delete them.

It just *must* be the best way of reaching out to civilians, no?
