A friend in Ottawa, Canada, has this problem he's seeking help for. Can anyone offer advice? (I haven't printed anything for ages...)
<extract> First, the background. I regularly visit http://www.thanhnien.com.vn to get the latest in news from Xuong's home. Under M$ XP, there's absolutely no problemo, I can view and print the pages on my LaserJet 2100. The problem comes with Linux. For the past little while, my different Linux installs have been able display the majority of the vietnamese text with no probs. In fact, I'm now running Fedora Core 4, which displays very well, with the latest FireFox. THE PROBLEM is that when I try to print the Vietnamese stuff, I get a page with some anglo characters here and there, and a whole lot of blank rectangles where most Vietnamese characters should be. <...> the problem manifests itself on both of my printers (LaserJet 2100 and Samsung el-cheapo ML-4500), so I figure it's more with the Linux. My question is: have you encountered this problem with Vietnamese web pages such as the ones under http://www.thanhnien.com.vn, and if so, how did you lick it? </extract> -- AD (Andi) Marshall eM: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Zone: ICT (IndoChina Time, GMT/UTC+7) Post: HoChiMinh City (ex/or SaiGon), VietNam ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
