Cool, I am a new Vim user. I noticed one thing that was a little odd at first
and thought I may as well mention it. It is in regards to the t/T/f/F/;/,
functionality. It seems a bit inconsistent and could be more powerful and
intuitive with some adjustments. Currently, t/T doesn't work with either repeat
to cycle forwards/backwards further than the closest match, unlike f,F which
does. It would be more powerful, and not really affect current user
understanding to let it work like f/F and go further than the closest matches.
Also, it would be very helpful to have t/T/f/F/;/, all work multiline instead of
just one line. The multiline functioning makes it more consistent with / & ?, to
make it further intuitive you could even make f/t work with n/N and open up ;/,
to be unused for people to map commands to. Using n/N would be preferable anyway
considering using two different keys to instead one to go back and forth is more
complex. There is a plugin that does some of these well called ft_improved but I
think the functionality if included would get much more exposure and improve
Vim's user experience overall, and reasonably easy to implement.
