If you select some preference customization from abiword's menu, then
it will create a abiword.profile under your ~/.abisuite directory. Use
an editor (vim of course) open that file and add this section is not
already there. (see the keybindings line)

You will notice the word 'viedit' in the status bar,  Only a few
keybindings such as hjkl yy are supported.  Not very useful.  Anyway I
also use latex instead of abiword unless for viewing m$ word document.
