The main advantage of the book form over a wiki, imho, is that a book
usually has a single author who provides a unifying perspective.

Swaroop's "Byte of Vim" is another excellent example of this.

When a wiki has numerous authors, and no strong editorial hand or
unifying plan, there is a tendency for it to seem as if each contributor
is competing for attention.

Thankfully, the Vim wiki seems to have avoided the kind of editing wars
that plague Wikipedia.  :-)
