Hi,

I would like to compare two files side by side using vsplit. Both files
contain lines which are longer than half of my screen width and should
be wrapped (set wrap) and numbered (set number).

If now e.g. line 4 in file A happens to be wrapped over four lines and
the corresponding line 4 in file B only over three lines, then line 5 of
file B is not shown at the same line, where line 5 starts in file A, but
one line higher:

4 xxx xxx xxx xxx | 4 xxx xxx xxx xxx
xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx
xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx
xxx xxx xxx xxx | 5 xxx xxx xxx xxx
5 xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx
   xxx xxx xxx xxx |

Is there any way to display wrapped lines with their beginnings always
at the same horizontal position, like this:

4 xxx xxx xxx xxx | 4 xxx xxx xxx xxx
xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx
xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx
   xxx xxx xxx xxx |
5 xxx xxx xxx xxx | 5 xxx xxx xxx xxx
xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx

Thank you very much,
Harald

if quotation marks had been placed before Fish, and between Fish and
and, and and and And, and And and and, and and and And, and And and
and, and and and Chips, as well as after Chips?"
