Well I thought of folding away all other paragraphs except the one, you are working with. This may or may not be, what you want. e.g. You have: 4 xxx xxx xxx xxx | 4 xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx | 5 xxx xxx xxx xxx 5 xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx | and you fold away every line that end with a newline (see :h fold-expr for an example). so it looks like this: 4 xxx xxx xxx xxx | 4 xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx | xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx |+-- 2 lines: xxx xxx +-- 2 lines: xxx | If you are done with that line, you go to the folded line and press zt, so that the folded line is on top of the window. Then you open that fold and this line is aligned. Something like this, was what I meant.
