Don't know about the shape, but I might get one and try it, save my
adb Kensington for the adb macs.

happens with a lot of stuff. How they push the 10x memory cards for
cheap when the are so slow so people buy more.
there's a pretty big chance that macs are not built as well as they
were.
Why they do it. Partly I think so that people will buy new ones
(quicker) - they have to stay in business.
Also to render customers dependent and submissive and not too smart
shoppers (this can be resisted if you care to)
