Well, mousing around with your thumb definitely takes some getting used to.  
I think perhaps some people might find it a more natural and comfortable way of 
pointing than others. [shrugs]

Of course, since everyone's hand is at least slightly different, everyone seems 
to have their own favorite peripheral and their own reason why they prefer it 
over other makes and models. :)

I must confess that I'm mildly envious of you, seeing as how the 
finger-operated trackball models are much easier to track down than the 
thumb-operated ones.  The design you like happens to be one that Logitech 
likes, too, and as near as I can tell, there are versions of this that will run 
on modern machines and operating systems right out of the box.

I believe Apple dropped external ADB support with OS 10.5, (Leopard) so I'm not 
sure what those of use still hopelessly addicted to ADB peripherals will do 
when we're (eventually) forced to upgrade. [sigh]
