I'd be happy with jsut getting the files off the SE onto the G3 and
them dealing with them from there. What else do I need to make that
happen with this setup?
You can do that just be setting AppleTalk to the printer port and
transferring the files over via Personal FileSharing. If you want
full time access to the net from the SE then you would need LocalTalk
Bridge.
Are there any possibilities of sharing a printer via the G3?
What about connecting to another machine running Leopard on the
network?
The SE will be able to go as far as the G3, but won't able to
connect to a
Leopard server without TCP/IP.
Also, be aware that if the G3's HD is HFS+ (which it probably is) then
that may well crash AppleShare when attempting to connect from the
SE to
the G3, and selecting that volume.
No it won't, HFS / HFS+ is at a level that is hidden by AppleShare.
I've accessed an HFS+ volume on the server from an SE, Plus and
various other pre OS 8.1 Macs many times with no trouble (at least
not from HFS+).
