If you could find a SCSI memory card reader for cheap... The only
current, new ones I've found are aimed at the music synthesizer market
and start at around $150. Ouch.
If you can find a Minolta CD-10 that might be a lot less expensive. It's
a SCSI PC Card (PCMCIA) adapter. You'd then need a PC Card to SD Card or
Compact Flash adapter to be able to transfer to a media you'll be able
to find a USB card reader for.
More likely to be findable is a SCSI Zip 100 (dunno if the Zip 250 was
made in SCSI) and a USB Zip 100 and a pack of disks. But that comes with
the issue that the disks can get tears in their edges, tears which can
rip the heads off the Zip drive, which if you don't notice it will then
rip the edges of other Zip disks.
It would be *possible* to create a NuBus USB card, but nobody, not even
some lone genius hacker, has ever bothered to do so. They'll make
fantastic things like an IDE controller that plugs in between a Z-80 CPU
and its motherboard for old CP/M systems and an enhanced FPGA version of
the TMS9918A Video Display Processor with VGA output for the TI-99/4A,
Colecovision game console and MSX1 computers (and any other device using
that chip) - but not something so handy and useful as a USB card for the
much more common NuBus bearing Macintoshes.
Heck, there has even been a SmartMedia and USB combo card made for the
TI-99/4A, though the DSR software has never really been made to do
anything useful so that hardware isn't actually usable for much.
What really surprised me was the "Eh, whatever." attitude the entire
Macintosh industry had toward supporting USB 2.0 on Mac OS 9. They just
flat out refused to even consider working on it, not even with offers of
money for the drivers. Nor would the open source freeware community.
They just preferred to sit there grumping about nobody writing USB 2.0
drivers for OS 9.
