Two weeks ago I posted my Mac II dark monitor problem.
"Recently my Mac II monitor (standard 13" RGB) ceased to "light
up" when
the computer is turned on. I tried cycling the power on-off button on the
monitor-no luck. Later I tried substituting a known good monitor-stll no
luck. When the Mac II is turned on , it sounds normal-the whirring sound of
disk or fan "
Several suggested the PRAM battery problem. I checked them. One was
a little low (3.2 v instead of 3.6) So I replaced it. After replacing the
battery nothing would turn on-no whirring sound or chime. What might I have
done wrong or what can I check?
One other piece of information-Altho the outer box says Mac II, the
mother board is Mac IIx. Therefore the batteries are not soldered in.
Thanks,
Andy Favret
