ah yes - i spoke too soon... just turned most of the office upside down to get to the
back of the G4...

it has a SCSI adaptor, i will check for ethernet. i dont have my cables with me though
- just brought my laptop and the localtalk cable...

i'm trying another approach - splitting the files into several floppies which i can
then read with my linux laptop and email to the G4... (!)...
it will work, i'm sure - but i need to find a way of getting the 230 to read CDs from
the G4 (which has no floppy, so i can't write floppies that the 230 will read because
stupid me forgot to bring my floppy drive for the laptop... argghh!) looks like i'll
probably have to finish this one by putting Splitsville onto a floppy when i'm back
home and then doing the split operation when i'm in the office next week....

can't even get the external scsi cable to fit in the port of my laptop... but there's
gotta be some way of doing this! ;-)

thanks again

m
