It's a termination problem. The termination of the internal scsi on 68k mobos is wierd. You need to make sure that the new drive is terminated, I suggest a discrete IDC active terminator instead of using what's on the drive. That way you can be sure the internal is done right. Also, sometimes you even need to terminate the EXTERNAL scsi too!
