Mmmmm.... So in order to print from an old Mac to a new usb-printer, one should send a postscript file to a unix machine (lrp) and have the unix machine send the file to a non postscript printer using RIP-software.... I suppose these unix machines will have to be able to talk to this printer in the native language of this printer first to be able to pull this trick. This means that one must use a printer with unix (linux mostly) driver software. Sorry, if I sound a bit confused, but I don't get the picture right away... Can one, considering the fact that there is also rip software available for mac os and windows, also use a newer Mac or windows machine to print to a usb printer?
