Everything but the generic VGA should work fine, and the VGA normally works too.

Yep, that's to be expected.  The morbidly curious can find the reason in the
FAQ.

This one has me baffled, especially since they work fine with the older model
of the High-Res RGB but not the newer one.

Are the model numbers on the two monitors the same?
