Sorry for not getting back to this sooner. In the time since I sent my first message, I found Pickle's FAQ and saw the notes about the LCs (and IIci) not syncing up with various monitors.
It's funny, I had taken the meaning of those notes to be that the LC and LC II would NOT sync up to monitors other than the earliest ones that Apple made at the same time. But Pickle, it sounds like you're telling me you would expect them to sync with the two MultipleScan monitors. As for the two High Resolution Monitors, yes they have different model numbers. Hadn't noticed before- the older one is "Model number M0401, and the newer one is "Family number M1297". I guess that explains the difference, but it doesn't seem to explain why these machines won't sync up them. Right now I'm leaning towards wiring up an adaptor a la that Apple article cited in the FAQ, so I can use it with my VGA (which was the intention all along). It'll be tricky since I already have two Macs connected to that monitor via a CompuCable ADB switchbox. I'm expecting I'll need to have the VGA adaptor for the LC downstream of the switchbox, because if it's upstream of it, the adaptor will probably get thrown off by the CompuCable's resolution-switching logic. Especially since the in-ports for the switch box are Apple DB-15- it only has a standard VGA port going out to the monitor. And I guess I'll need to build a second switching box, so that the the CompuCable can have access to the monitor straight through. But if anyone wants to continue the probe into why Apple's MultipleScans aren't working, I'm happy to try stuff out. >>Well, I'm a MacTard, so I'll just go back to lurking. Pickle, you forgot to specify if you wanted Curly or Homestyle. [-D -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
