[Looks a little dubious]

For a laugh, this weekend I hunted down a copy of PowerPeek & put it
on my girlfriend's B&W G3 Mac running OS 9.2.2. She's one of the few
people I know still running MacOS 9.

PowerPeek puts a little flashing light at the top right of the menu
bar: red when running MC68K code, green for PPC code. Even with all
modern apps on a patched-to-the-absolute-hilt (by me) MacOS 9.2.2
machine, it's red an /awful/ lot of the time. Big chunks of WamCom
Mozilla 1.3.1, Outlook Express 5, IE 5.1, the latest Yahoo messenger &
more... It's seldom solid green at all.

There's still a LOT of 68K code around.

I missed out on a free Quadra 840AV a couple of weeks ago & I'm
gutted. After getting back into classic Macs recently while
refurbishing a bunch of old machines for friends, I want to assemble a
kick-ass 68K Mac, just for fun, and the 840 was the fastest ever...
